Story:
Seenu (Ram) is an intelligent and gutsy guy who lives in Anakapalli but his problem is lack of degree as he fails. This also affects his marriage prospects. He decides to complete his graduation and goes to the city to join college. In the college, he sees Sruthi (Hansika) and falls in love with her. But Sruthi is scared. The reason is Bhavani (Sonu Sood), a noted goonda who has a strong desire for Sruthi and kills any man who approaches her. However, Seenu enters the scene and with his smartness, he not only wins the heart of Sruthi but also ensures Bhavani doesn't hurt him. But then, Rajanna (Jayaprakash Reddy) a more powerful and strong person than Bhavani is searching for Seenu. Why is he doing that? What happens to Seenu's love story? All this forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ram has given a powerhouse performance and entertains with his dances as well. Hansika looks sensuous and sweet but she is putting on weight, a check is needed on that. Aksha has got a significant role and she doesn't let down. Sonu Sood is yet another brilliant performer, he should be given good credit. Jayaprakash Reddy was good. Raghu Babu was funny, Brahmi was entertaining, Chandramohan and Srinivas Reddy did their bit as required. The others gave their contribution in a good way.
Highlights:
- Ram’s performance and dance
- Dialogues
- Screenplay
- Comedy
- Two songs and background score
Drawbacks:
- Dragged second half
- Too many cinematic liberties
- Storyline gives déjà vu feeling
Analysis:
It has always been proved that when the script and screenplay are handled very well and it is packed with good dose of comedy, the Tollywood audience will give thumbs up. When that happens, even flaws and reasoning are sidelined as the entertainment quotient matters. That’s what happened in this movie. With the right kind of comedy and timing of dialogues, the director has given a packed entertainer.
Though he has followed the Srinu Vytla formula, what matter is there is no idle moment and the film takes the audience through a breezy treat. Good technical values are another advantage that worked in this film’s favor.
Overall, the film has sufficient dose of mass, class and family elements. Success at box office looks inevitable. As the film ‘Dhada’ that released yesterday received negative talk and as there is no big film release for a few weeks, ‘Kandireega’ enjoys full meals at box office.
Verdict: Entertainer, recommended!
