The Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan starrer film was a resounding success and created the 'Angry Young Man' image for the Superstar. Amitabh shot to fame with this action-packed drama, which has been produced by Prakash Mehra.
Now, Prakash Mehra's Son Amit Mehra is planning to remake 'Zanjeer' with Ram Charan. Apoorva Lakhia ('Ek Ajnabee', 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' fame) would be directing the film. The makers are in talks with a popular Bollywood heroine to don the role of Jaya Bachchan in the remake. Reliance Entertainment is said to be co-producing this mega project. The film will go to floors in the second half of 2012.
