“First, We request fans not to get into strife of tongues. We believe in fraternity of stars as well fans. We want to tell you certain truths. We never told that Dookudu crossed other movies in all areas. Its run is going on and there are some regions where Dookudu has to cross other movies.(Later we came to know that MD's record is still ruling in Nizam,Ceded and some districts in coastal.) But what mattered is the total world wide collection, overseas collections that has shown a revolution. The craze of Mahesh, family audience of Srinu Vytla especially in cities and overseas did the magic.The dollar value has risen in big way from the days of Magadheera in 2009 to Dookudu in 2011. Dookudu collected 1.5 million dollar only in the multiplexes of USA and 30% can be added to it pertaining to the collections from stand alone theatres. And the collections were tremendous in other parts of the world like UK, Australia, Canada, Dubai and Germany. On a whole, the overseas gross of Dookudu was about Rs 20 Cr approx, which is almost Rs 15 Cr more than that of Magadheera. And this happened only due to dollar value as I said and also the business opportunities we got from entire world unlike the days of Magadheera” said makers of Dookudu.
So with this feed, we can say that since Dookudu is claiming Rs 101 Cr as gross(47Days), the share will be around Rs 70 Cr (deducting 30% in general). And Magadheera declared Rs 83 Cr as Gross and so the share is Rs 58 Cr as stated by Allu Sirish on twitter earlier. So had there been no Rs 15 Cr(Share 12Crs) difference of overseas, Dookudu would have recorded only Rs 58 Cr (Rs 70- Rs 12=Rs 58 Cr).
So it is only the dollar value, business opportunities from other countries, openings due to number of theatres that brought huge collections for Dookudu but not any other factor.
It is an open truth that Dookudu is not a film to compare with Magadheera in terms of graphics, presentation and mesmerizing power. Magadheera is a Tollywood epic for ever. Dookudu is a film that cashed out of situation.
