Prince Mahesh Babu is riding high with the success of his latest offering ‘Dookudu’ and the film has received the second highest opening in the US after Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’. Recently, Mahesh was sharing his thoughts and here are few excerpts
Stuck with ‘Pokiri’:Mahesh mentioned that his film ‘Pokiri’ was remade two years ago with Salman Khan and it became a massive hit. But he got stuck to that image and that’s why his later movies didn’t click. So, he decided to take an year off and made his comeback with ‘Dookudu’. He is happy with the response as well.
Down-to-earth nature:
Despite his stardom, Mahesh has been quite down to earth. He maintains that this is due to his ‘regular’ upbringing from his father superstar Krishna. He recalled how they used to travel in autos and kept life as normal as possible. Mahesh admitted that he lost out on one year of school due to his stint as a child artist. His father got worried and advised him to act only when he is older. So Mahesh went back to school.
Publicity & learning:
Mahesh reportedly confessed that in the start, the attention he got from people stressed him out and it took time for him to get used to it and feel relaxed. He adds that the place is amazing as there is opportunity to meet so many people and learn many things. The prince states that he is growing as a human being everyday.
Bollywood:
Mahesh makes it clear that it will take two years for him to step into Bollywood even if he wants it because of his ongoing projects. Currently, he is shooting for ‘The Businessman’ in Mumbai. He added that the response to ‘Dookudu’ is actually a miracle and this has given him more responsibilities. Apparently, the director is keen on doing the Hindi version with Mahesh but the price prefers to focus only on south for now.
Bollywood connection:
Mahesh mentioned that if at all he made his debut in Bollywood, it would be with a proper role and not through some side role. His connection to the circuit is his wife actress Namrata Shirodkar.
Marriage and popularity:
Mahesh stated that his marriage with Namrata didn’t affect his popularity and instead, it made him even more famous. He beamed with pride that after the birth of his son Gautham, his whole perspective changed. The prince beams with pride and mentions that once a person becomes a dad, he becomes a man.
