Vijay starrer Adhirindhi is gearing up for a huge release as a Diwali special on October 18 in the two Telugu speaking states. The pre-release buzz surrounding the film is extremely positive and it’s going to be the biggest ever release for a Vijay’s film in Telugu.
Directed by Atlee, the film has Vijay playing three different roles – a village panchayat head, a doctor, and a magician. While the portions featuring Vijay as a panchayat head and a doctor were shot in India, the team flew to Europe to shoot the segment featuring Vijay as a magician. Adhirindhi is also the first Indian film to be shot in Macedonia. Since Atlee and Vijay were keen to make the whole film authentic, three internationally renowned magicians – Gogo Requiem (Macedonia), Dani Belev (Bulgaria) and Raman Sharma (Canada) – were roped in to train Vijay to perform several magic tricks in the film.
All the three magicians were quite impressed with Vijay’s dedication to learn the tricks and termed him as a perfectionist. Talking about his experience, Gogo Requiem said, “I had my reservations over teaching someone things that usually take years to perfect. But I was quite astonished when Vijay got everything at one go. He’s a very good observer and a quick learner. Not just that, he’s also an incredible actor and an awesome magician too. I wasn’t the only one; there were two other guys too, Donney Bennet and Raman Sharma. They were also involved in the process along with 70-80 people from India who were all helping in the making of the movie in Macedonia in May, 2017.” On the other hand, Raman Sharma complimented Vijay saying, “If Vijay decides to become a magician, he’ll be one of the best in the world.”
With all these renowned magicians praising the whole team of ‘Adhirindhi’ for their work, it’ll be a treat for the audience as well to watch Vijay pull off some impressive magic tricks in the film.
AR Rahman has scored the music and GK Vishnu is the cinematographer. Apart from Vijay, the film also has Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and SJ Suryah. Produced by Murali Ramasamy & Hema Rukmani, Adhirindhi, titled as Mersal in Tamil, will release in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The Telugu version is going to be released through Northstar Entertainment’s Sharrath Marar, who is the strategical partner of the film.
